Antique Chinese Bronze Oriental Dragon Lamps. These lamps measure 19 and one half inches tall and are 32 inches high overall. The diameter is 9 inches. The perfect decorative accessory with well defined dragons attached to each side of the urn vase interior. This pair of Chinese bronze vase date from the mid 19th century and were electrified into lamps in the 20th century.

"Leonard Tsuguharu Foujita" Pencil Drawing . The original Japanese lacquer frame measures 14 and three quarters inches wide by 12 and one quarter inches high by 2 inches deep. The "Leonard Tsuguharu Foujita" pencil drawing measures 10 and one half inches by 8 inches" FOUJITA, Tsuguharu (1886-1968 was born in Japan and studied at the Imperial School of Fine Arts in Tokyo. By 1910 he had received several medals and prizes; the Japanese Emperor even purchased one of his paintings. On a trip to Korea in 1911, he was asked to paint the king. Foujita seemed destined for a career in the Orient until he traveled to London in 1912 and then, in 1913, went to live in Paris. He discovered European contemporary art, much as the French, in the nineteenth-century, had discovered Japanese prints. Foujita had his first exhibition in Paris in 1917 and by 1924 he was one of the most important exhibitors at the Salon d' Automne. In the same year he was elected a member of the Tokyo Academy of Fine Arts for he was the first Japanese artist to free that country's art of its legendary and classic image. Foujita was then selected to decorate the Japanese House at the Cité Universitaire in Paris. He traveled to England, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and the United States where he had a studio until 1939. Japanese Edo Lacquer document box c1865. This is an excellent example of fine lacquer works from the Japanese Edo period in Japan. The inside of the box has a lovely all over design as well as the exterior of the box and its lid. The underside of the lid has a design in gold and lacquer relief depicting turtles,ferns and flowers. The condition is original with some surface impressions on the boxes base from natural wear and a fine line in one of the boxes top corners that can be seen in raking light on the outside but not on the inside. This document box measures 17 inches wide by 16 inches deep by 6 and one quarter inches high.
