Vintage rosewood picture frame inlaid with brass bronze and mosaic, This vintage "picture frame" is quite stunning. It took an enormous amount of time to inlay all the brass,bronze and ivory in to a mosaic design. The outside rim is framed in bronze also. This might have been made in Syria. This ornate picture frame dates for the early 20th century and measure 5 inches by six and one half inches. The inside measurement where a painting or picture would go measures 4 and one quarter by 2 and three quarters. The condition is excellent with only one tiny brass inlaid piece missing which is hard to notice.

Rare book,"The Shop Signs of Peking" The shop signs of Peking by H. K. Fung, Ph. D. This is an amazing book with Illustrations that are hand painted. Issued by the Chinese Painting Association of Peking. 5 Tung Chang Tai Ping Hutung. Peking, China1931. Oblong folio. Pp. (vi) + illustrations on 18 lvs. Includes 101 different shop signs beautifully hand colored with captions in English and Chinese.This book is in very good condition and quite rare. The images are all hand painted. Publisher's binding with silk covered upper board and matching paper covered board at back. "The shop signs of different parts of China vary according to the customs of the people. This book measures 13 and one quarters inches by 10 and one quarters inches. There is a note in the front that says Anna Salisbury Dec 1937 from Captain George.

Chinese Export Porcelain hot water dish c1820

Chinese Export Porcelain Service Piece measures 9 and three quarters inches in diameter at the top and is 1 and one half inches high. This piece was part of a large service Gold monogrammed Script initials LMS inside a swagged cartouche was on all the pieces. Made around 1820 the set which this piece was a part of belonged to Laban Smith born 1765 and Mary his wife Nee Bradley 1767 to 1834 of Fair Haven and Wooster Street New Haven CT. This piece is in very good condition with the exception of some blue paint on its outer rim that appears to have run in the firing process.
