"Japanese Metal Sculpture" by Japanese artist Myochin Tsuneo, born 1882, Died 1940. Excellent condition in original wooden box, signed. The La "Langouste" is signed under the tail flap, and is clearly marked, which can be seen in one of the thumbnail images.The original box measures 19 and one half inches long by 3 and three quarter inches high and is 8 and thre eighths inches wide. The metal La Langouste sculpture measures 18 inches from curled tail to extended antennae. The body measures 7 inches long and is 4 and one half inches wide. This very unique metal sculpture has moving parts and is quite a piece of work.Fantastic museum quality piece

"Japanese Inro" this Period Antiques Japanese Inro dates from 1775 to 1850 and is in perfect condition. This "Inro" is signed by the artist. The quality of the workmanship is equal to any Inro in "Japanese Inro" by Julia Hutt, Victorian and Albert Museum collection. This Inro has a wonderful netsuke by Yoshitomo depicting a clam's dream. An open shell reveals a figural landscape with a castle and pavilions. The netsuke is signed and dates from late 18th to early 19th century. This netsuke has wonderful age wear .On the Inro there are raised flowers and birds along with very tight gold work. Inros from this period in this condition are quite rare.For a similar example of this clamp netsuke see Eldreds Japanese Art at auction volume 11 August 26 1992 #1926. For similar examples of Inro of this quality see Sotheby's Japanese Works of Art New York Tuesday September 14 1999 a sale where a large collection of Inros were sold.
